Privacy policy
Privacy isn't a marketing promise at CozySoft — it's part of how I build software. This page explains which data is collected when you visit cozysoft.me, and which is deliberately not. This is a courtesy translation of the German original, which remains the legally binding version.
1. Data controller
Responsible for data processing on this website is:
Frank Weigand
Auf dem Zechenacker 21
53842 Troisdorf
Germany
Email: hello@cozysoft.me
2. Principle: as little data as possible
CozySoft is a private hobby project. This website is a purely informational site — there are no user accounts, no tracking, no advertising networks and no analytics tools. No cookies that would require consent are set.
3. Server logs
When you visit the website, the hosting provider automatically collects technical information that your browser sends to the server. This typically includes:
- anonymised IP address
- date and time of the request
- the page or file requested
- amount of data transferred
- the browser, operating system and referrer used
This data is technically necessary to deliver the website and to detect attacks or misuse. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest in operating the site securely). Logs are automatically deleted after a short period and are not merged with any other data sources.
4. Fonts (Google Fonts)
For a consistent typographic experience, the typefaces Plus Jakarta Sans and Manrope are loaded via Google Fonts. When doing so, your browser establishes a connection to servers operated by Google (Google Ireland Ltd.) and transmits, among other things, your IP address. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR.
More information can be found in Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
5. Email contact
If you contact me by email, I will process your details solely to respond to your request. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) lit. b or f GDPR. Your message will be deleted as soon as it is no longer required for processing and no legal retention obligations apply.
6. Linked apps
This site links to my own apps (BankingPal, CozyPages, PhotoCal). Each of these apps and their websites has its own privacy policy, which you can find there.
7. Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation you have, among others, the following rights:
- access to the personal data I hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
- rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
- erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
- restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
- objection to processing (Art. 21 GDPR)
- lodging a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority
A simple email to hello@cozysoft.me is enough to exercise any of these rights.
8. Changes to this policy
I will update this policy whenever legal requirements or the way the website works change. The current version will always be available on this page.
